Thinking about calling it a day with airsoft and wanting to see what my main rig is worth. It’s a custom build with a PolarStar F2, Maxx hop-up, Prometheus barrel, and a genuine Magpul stock, along with a load of other internal and external upgrades.

It shoots like a dream, but full transparency it needs a new charging handle spring and the dust cover is currently taped up. Just wondering what a fair asking price would be in the current market given the specs? Also, where are the best/most trusted places to list high-end HPA stuff these days where I won't get messed about? Cheers.

As kindly as I can say this, full transparency really needs pictures as words don't tell us everything, especially as you haven't specified what (presumably) M4/AR base rifle you've specced out.

The rule of thumb though not universal is that a RIF goes for ~60-70% of its current retail price though with the faults you've listed, they'd be bartering ground for closer to 60% if not lower depending on how easy/expensive it is to fix. That percentage will also come down if you've sold the gearbox contents. I'd expect a PolarStar engine to get a similar percentage of its retail price returned.

The Prommy inner barrel will only offer so much value as part of a complete gun. If you have the original barrel, you may get more selling the gun and the inner barrel separately. It's the same for the stock as it's replacing the original.

If you can restore the base RIF to its original spec or at least as close as you can while it remains functional, you stand to get more money back selling the RIF and the HPA engine separately.

January is not a good time to sell airsoft kit so if you can wait until around May, you are more likely to get more money back.

I'd consider this place among the best sell airsoft guns whether you run AEG, HPA or GBBR. Forum members and staff are pretty quick at clamping down on scammers.

There are Whatsapp groups but they're often pretty poisonous. Where in the UK are you based roughly? Red Alert near Newbury/Reading has a boot sale every month or so. Driver Wood near Gatwick/Crawley does one every 4th Sunday of the month. I believe there is one in Essex early next month as well. I haven't seen an update yet but there could also be the Midlands Airsoft Fair though that won't be until June if it's the at the same time of year and place (Newark Showground).

You always seem to be in the know so it's worth asking do you know any similar boot sale type events up the north east way?

I'm in the north east, and unfortunately there aren't any actual car boot sales for it.

The nearest you'll get is that sometimes Armageddon will have a notice up that they'll be having a lunchtime sale session.
Or dirty dog have the office where you can leave your stuff with notes and people will browse to possibly purchase stuff.

The nearest actual sake will be the Midlands Airsoft fair at Newark. Usually around June/October, I think?

Aye I've picked the odd bit of useful gear in the dirty dog shop I like having a nose in there in-between rounds. Keep meaning to drop a boneyard lct ak in their charity sale bit to clear some room.

I wish I knew the North East better for airsoft but I would have suggested Dirty Dog but you already know it. Pheas Airsoft mentions private sellers there in a few of his videos.
