Firepower FP8 Pro Series AEG

I recently purchased this electric bb gun and I have unpacked and put the 1200mah battery on charge for 8 hours thinking that woulgd be sufficient to fully charge it and then actually fire it, but once the battery is connected nothing happens there aren't any noises from the motor in the pistol grip. Therefore I am at a complete loss as to what to do next, any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the charger rating thing? It should say something like 300mA on it (which would mean it would charge the battery in 4 hours)

The charger is 110v 250 mah but it plugged into a 240v - 110v converter and I'm thinking this is the problem, therefore where would I buy a 240v 250 mah - 9.6v charger.
