Yes, sorry. I am specifically interested in the TM Gen 4 Glock 17 paired with a cnc Guarder slide.
Usually with a Guarder slide the tm bbu needs modifying. If it is one of the more recent, more expensive cnc slides, I am assuming the TM bbu would be a straight fit.
Likely "work with" yes, but even the steel barrel rubs. I should imagine the plastic outer barrel would get damaged pretty quickly. Why would you want that combo anyway? This is my Gen4 with CNC aluminium slide and steel outer barrel:
No guarantee it will be an easy fit. Also a heads up in airsoft CNC'd can mean machines from a block of what ever metal or in can just mean cast alloy with a machined finish best to check. Majority will get the latter.
Plastic outer barrel could be destroyed over time simply because on each empty mag your barrel is gonna tilt and usually metal biting into plastic isn't a good combination. But probably you could get some life span out of it even before you need a new one. Also, you can get fixed outer barrel later on if needed.
If a slide isn't a drop in that's a bad omen already. You should never modify or wrack your gun to try to fit something that's not fit for purpose.
I tested this last night and firstly a disclaimer: This FDE build is something I did this year, when the Guarder Gen4 parts had been out for a while. Everything fit perfectly with zero modification. However another Gen4 build I did when the parts first came out was a nightmare. There was a massive gap between the slide and frame, the dummy ejector was mis-sized (I contacted Guarder and they admitted it was a production error) and it just refused to cycle smoothly.
So I can't comment on the particular parts you have or will buy. However I can confirm that the stock Gen4 BBU fits and works in this slide without any modification.
as @Cr0-Magnonhas said, the new guarder CNC stuff is a step change. Virtually drop in.
got a few mates who have done G17, G19 builds with their new (2022+) CNC stuff and it’s all been flawless.
so you should be fine to drop it all in.
if you can get a stock of stock gen4 barrels then there’s no reason why you can’t use the stock barrel. You’ll probably find the barrels will wear quickly and your shots won’t be as accurate either as a steel outer barrel provides an element of stability compared to the plastic.
