Can i get a RIF?

i am 16 years old and starting airsoft one of my friends is getting a new Rifle and is going to give me his old one to keep and use would this be legal as i don't have a UKARA if it is legal could i go play at a airsoft field with out him and just play by myself.

Yes. Make sure you have a bag for it though (or cover it up properly) during transportation. That's just a general rule by the way.

thanks guys. the law is a bit weird you can't buy a full black one under the age or without a UKARA but you can have one,does anyone know why just been looking at the laws for air soft and can't really understand that.

And yeh, VCRA is poorly implemented, but what it does cover is at point of sale and not ownership.

I can honestly say I think its about time that there was a suitability test before being able to buy/own an airsoft gun.

Yes, that was a joke. Just barely.

As it stands the laws around RIFs are full of holes and an awful lot of people that say they understand them are often mistaken. But as already stated, you'll be fine. And yes, this is for the UK.
