has anyone ever seen the bush bearing collapse? :o

was just stripping my mp5K to sort the airseal/piston etc, when i noticed that the new bearing bush that i fitted a few weeks ago has collapsed! :o :o and it was on the idle gear (the mid gear) ... which by all accounts has little/no load

just wondering how common a even this is?

I've only seen it occur once before, it was on the same gear (spur gear) in an M4 with a ridiculous spring in it.

Surely all the gears take a load? *giggedy*

i only have a guarder sp100 spring

probably just unlucky with the bearing, Just replace it, but make sure that you replace the other end of the same gear at the same time so they're from the same set.

yeah gunna have to order some in :(

i am considering just replacing the set with steel bushings  i honestly dont know what to do.

right with it being a 6mm box i am gunna swap it to bushings

Yeah mate anything under 8mm just gets eaten....stick with bushes on a 6mm 'box

Yeah from what I have read anything below 8mm is increasingly likely to fail with bearings :(

Even the bushings I bought are rotating in the casting now, so it looks like I am gunna have to swap that at some point but as luck would have it land warrior have a ultimate v3 box with 8mm bearings :) but its gunna be a month or 2 before I get it. If/when I do it's gunna be another rebuild though with a major ROF :)
