Best Belt For The Job

These things are solid as heck!!

I have a cheap molle thing with braces, similar to @Duff s post but I dont like it. I want to move onto something better quality and easier to adjust. Tempted with either a Warrior gunfighter or a FRV shooters belt myself as I only use belts to carry gear now.

Been looking at the FRV ones myself. I like the idea of the velcro inner belt concept.

It is a pretty useful feature and not at all less stable than one without.

5.11 Tactical Operator belt (£32) or Training belts, you can see my review at the bottom of the page.

I don't really need a molle belt, so I have been considering one of these. The Operator is 1.75" and the Trainer 1.5".  Which is likely to be more practical for somebody who just wants to run a holstered pistol and a couple of mag pouches.

I'd prefer the Operator but then I would probably need pants with wide loops. Can these belts just be worn across the waist without going through the loops, or do only battle belts suit this?

I have never considered of using these belts outside of trousers, would think that the battle belt would be more suitable.  There may be a forum member who has tried it.   I use them with the belt loops because the belt holds my trousers up and the belt loops keep the holster and other kit in position.  The wear the 1.5" with jeans or other trousers.

For holding up trousers? Braces with no belt, so comfy

For pistols/pistol mags/dump pouch i use a generic battle belt style thing on an alice y harness that goes on under my main belt rig for mags and such.

Took me a while to set it all up, but works pretty good now and doesnt leave you with bruised shoulders.
