Ares G36k Rail Replacement?

Hi all!

New here so hope this is in the right place and have done a search couldn’t find anything similar.

I own an Ares g36k haven’t used it in years but would like to get it back out and get back into Airsoft once this corona virus is over.

Love the gun but would love to remove the carry rail with integrated scope and replace with a ris rail but once the carry handle is removed there are 2 pegs that remain where it slots into the carry handle.

They are abs and part of the body and doesn’t appear to be removable.

has anyone had any experience doing this on there own gun?

no pictures unfortunately as it’s at my old house.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your best best is replace the optic carry handle with a rail carry handle. There's a variety of options, just from a quick google:

I think you could chop off the lugs and fix a rail on there, but I'd rather use something like the above myself.

Thanks George, I feel quite stupid I assumed rails like that wouldn’t work because the lugs would be in the way but I see now that the rails lock onto them as well! 

Thought  I was going to have to do a bit of cutting ?
