Hey guys and girls,

I recently acquired a S&T M249 para, it had been converted to HPA but I’m looking to put a V2 gearbox back in. The pistol grip is missing the little screw in plate to hold the motor in place in the pistol grip, so I’ve been looking at a replacement but cannot work out if there are any differences between them or what’s best to do. The HPA engine I have, the gate pulsar S doesn’t have a nozzle long enough for me to use so I’m trying to avoid getting another engine for now…

any help is much appreciated.

Thank you!

The motor in the A&k and specna Arms m249 is not in the pistol grip. It's in the receiver. This is what the gearbox looks like. It's not a v2 gearbox. So a pistol grip from one of these won't work in a s&t m249. I hope this helps..

Best bet is probably to try and contact S&T directly :(

given its a v2 gearbox and standard long motor could a standard m4 pistol grip not be fitted in the short term ?

I think it's an old design. On action hobbies it says the s&t is based off the star m249 design. Star changed to ares a while ago.
