Am I cooked?

you reckon they're also the kind to have the block itself be proprietary too?
as replacing the block with one that could fit the usual suspect could also be an option if so
I think it is proprietary, the upper part of the bock seems to be standard to everything but there’s a lower to is where the outer barrel is secured on to.

When I had a look I couldn’t see any way of separating the two

So the block usually looks like these (pics attached)
so depends which form it takes, but is usually a one piece kinda deal that can be unscrewed and slid off for takedown

pretty sure i got some spares of them too
will check a little later

more importantly
if the lever still functions, via manipulating with plyers or something else inconvenient...
do you need to remove the handguard for to clean, disassemble or swap it out?
if not, and it's still securing the top handguard
then no issue

I have to use pliers to manipulate - it still functions as it should, it’s just really irritating me that it’s broken.. I’m abit OCD and therefore it’s slightly breaking my heart every time I look at it 😭

This is what the part looks like, matter of fact that’s exact the part, taken from Wiitech website

Yes the locking mechanism is still working fine, it’s the handle to it has snapped off, would you be happy to sell me your rear sight block my kind sir?😭

No, i sold that complete gun already.

But if the cam is intact and only the lever's broken, then you can probably find a way to attach any other brand's lever onto the end of the cam.

No can to, I may have to weld it on by the looks it lol but that’s something I’m not sure if I want to do - where the hell am I going to find a weld and make sure it doesn’t attach itself on to the actual block

Don't bother trying to weld/attach it, you'll always know it's goosed. do you have any othe AK's you could remove (carefully) and see if it'll fit or could be made to fit?

I have an AKX also, same rear sight block essentially but the top has picatinny rail and isn’t the classic AK rear sight, also the lever itself is a more modernised one too so it just wouldn’t look right

That could probably be welded without issue as long as the cam (and replacement lever) is steel. I'll have a look later if it is, i don't have a magnet to hand to check.

well i got these if they're any use to you dude

some are screwed in
some require the ak tool, known affectionately as "a hammer"
but all the ones i have are screwed in on the other side

but if it's still stuck in there
give it some gentle persuasion with your ak tool (and a flathead screwdriver or something to tappa tappa)

the TM AKM GBB upper hand guard retainer (the part you have broke) is installed similar to the real steal versions and pressed into place. If you can bash it out with a hammer and lots of swearing you could fit one from a LCT rear sight block (about 42 quid from WGC). Once fitted you would need to flair the end to stop if falling out.
