Just joined the site with a view to selling my old collection of RIF Airsoft guns. Been doing reading up over the last week or so to confirm sale complies with UKARA etc.

Few questions if I may please:
  1. As a collector that's had these for around 20 years, do I need to be UKARA registered etc to sell?
  2. Do you think there would be much interest on here with my collection listed below?
  3. Here looks like a good place to sell from my research, I realise have to keep safe from scammers etc and I'd much rather arrange sale on here and exchange goods in person. Be happy to travel to someone within the Southeast or have them collect. Is that the best plan these days once a deal is agreed?
  4. With a largish collection, would it be better to sell as a bundle to a skirmish site or shop that trades in second hand?
Thanks in advance and any other advice or course very welcome too please.

List of what I'm selling and just going through checking they all work etc. All purchased brand new from stores like Wolf Armouries etc around 2006/7.

  1. Nope, no UKARA needed to sell.
  2. Most likely, it just may take some time for some of it.
  3. You're shooting yourself in the foot by wanting collection only, somebody could really want something you have but be the other side of the country. Collection only means you'd lose a lot of interest unless the person happens to be local as well.
  4. It's up to you, if you want it all gone for a larger chunk less cash than you'd get selling privately then sure. Shops will need to make profit on top, so you'd end up being offered far less than you'd get privately.

There will always be a buyer if the price is percieved to be correct, the rule of thumb is 60-70% of the current price +/- depending on condition. you are free to ask any price you believe to be fair and lower the price weekly until you find a buyer.
Personally I don't think bundles are worth it as buyers might want one or two items you're selling & simply not want the rest and as a result might not even make an offer, prepare to be flexible & factor in postage & PP fees in your add & decide if an offer is a fair offer in your opinion. You'll possibly get some cheeky offers, it's up to you if you want to haggle, reject or accept them.
As Austeyr says, collection only will reduce potential buyers significantly.

I currently have 2 adds and have lowered the price to find a buyer, there are members watching the adds presumably waiting for a price they're willing to offer but as a seller I've reached the point that I'm not prepared to reduce them any further & happy to keep them in my collection.

Most importantly... read & follow the rules.

Nice bundle and great condition for thier age. Have you tested them all?

You could bundle it, but the sale of a bundle would be remarkably slower than splitting them. I would also estimate that you might make a bit more selling separately, as typically bundles are expected to be less. I have already spent my allotment this month for airsoft stuff; otherwise, I would snap up the PPK/P99 :) very interested in those 2 ngl. If you decide a price for the PPK/P99 swing me a DM; I might be able to do it lol

Thanks for the helpful replies everyone, really appreciated.

Was thinking selling in the southeast, where I would either have people collect or arrange to delivery to them. Just assumed posting would be problematic due to them being RIF. Is that not really the case then?

Just testing them all today and have a oouple of batteries charging, amazingly they still charge after years of non-use. Condition wise, most of them are pretty much mint, with barely any use. The Steyr Aug, Mini Uzi and M92FS having had the most use and even those, it would be under 1000 shots. Much more collected them for their looks and realism, over using them. But after years of just sitting in cases etc, decided it's time to move them on.

Just keeping three favourites, TM MP5 SD6, Western Arms M92FS and a Kit built Aliens M41A Pulse Rifle (from a TM Thompson - looks the part but far too fragile to use. So these will really be display only.

You can post RIFs by using Parcel Force 48 without issue. Smaller ones are normally £4-10 postage and larger ones can be £10-20 depending on weight.
