Well if you want any other opinions or anything on the slide or testing let me know happy to give it a try. The slide linked above is good but not perfect so happy to try out another version.
What happens is overtime the metal re-enforcement comes loose and then the plastic hits when the slide reaches full travel. So if your metal re-enforcement is loose it's a matter of time. Mine lasted me 4/5 years of light use till it cracked.
If you JB weld it in then I'm theory it should never...
Also did the thought of CNCing one on your home CNC cross your mind ? Asked a local company near me and they wanted £1000 for a single slide unless I ordered 100 they were ridiculous money
Whats you plan for print orientation? Managed to get the slide I linked printed in pla to hold up to testing but every other filament I tried just broke along the layer lines.
I tried abs,ASA, petg, ASA CF and pa6 cf.
It is a bit of a faff to get it working but better than no slide. 😂
If anyone has a slide that's not cracked take the metal part out the slide and JB weld it in supposedly that will fix it even once it's cracked but not broke off
