    Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic

Small alteration to my Direct Action Gear dump pouch. I already had the Esstac Kywi in it but I added a molle popper to keep the 3rd column of molle against the belt and hold it open better. Then I added some elastic cord and cordlock to allow a can of gas to be stowed in there too. The...

    THE TM MWS thread

Bringing Airsoft-forums kicking and screaming into the 21st Century I asked ChatGPT to summerise the previous 275 pages. Question for experienced users, how did it do? n00bs - take with a pinch of salt! The thread on the Airsoft Forums UK about the Tokyo Marui MWS spans numerous pages and...

I need some ideas for upgrades

Air seal as stock on many guns is pretty bad. Just a case of eliminating it step by step.  Piston head to cylinder, cylinder to cylinder head, cylinder head to air nozzle (always bad with those plastic ones!) and air nozzle to hop up rubber.  With a good air seal I have got 1.05J from an M90...

    Hpa adapter for m4 mws

I have been wondering about this too - AirTac make the mag well adapters (either M4 or MP5 mag versions) but you need to borrow some parts from a donor MWS MAG.   I have seen people put the line direct into the fill valve of a MWS mag and refill from a speed loader. Probably better for DMR...

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

So the M105 spring (which should give about 105m/s) was giving 118m/s! Seems the air seal and shimming is really good.   M95 ordered from AK2M4 and fitted with the 40shore piston bumper on the cylinder head and full tooth sector gear. Now out putting 278fps on 0.28g with a little hop and...

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

I have a few different shore rating spacers on their way to me and I’ll give them a go. I read up on the silicone mod and it sounds a bit fiddly but can be tuned to suit the build and customised. Just rebuilt the gear box with a full tooth sector and M105 spring - might be running a little...

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

Never cone across that before, although I have seen the silicone pads that places sell to replace the std rubber pad on the cylinder head.    How durable is the silicone? I have a spare SHS cylinder head so can give it a go.

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

Spare 13:1 gears and M105 spring ordered as I like empirically testing such things, also interested to see if it is quieter with longer stroke / softer spring. Happy with performance now but it does give a bit of a SMACK at end of the stroke (even with POM head and padded cylinder end!) ?

    Guns Modify MWS nozzles

I have been running TM and GM nozzles without it and had no issues, pretty sure the end of the bolt carrier stops in the receiver end face and not relying on some thin plastic to stop it! Not sure how well that tiny spring would slow the bolt mass and return spring either!

    Guns Modify MWS nozzles

The fake bolt lugs? Yeah they don’t do anything but you can transfer them from the old one if you are really fussed. The GM nozzles are good and the three pack of rocket valves for modding are cool too.

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

Ok, but if you don’t need the air volume why waste time and battery energy pulling the piston all the way back for every shot?

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

Ended up short stroking to a) drop power and b) speed up cycle time. Seems my M110 spring was actually a M115 so 3 from pick up / 1 from release to get down to 285fps on a 0.28g which seems best performance from testing. 0.25g were a bit light, 0.32g needed lots of hop and dropped a load of...

Volume, short stroking and what is really needed

Hi all, Now GBBR weather is here I am fettling my franken TM&C M733. I was running 18:1 gears (2 from pick up / 2 from release) with Warhead 35k and 7.4v or 9.9v. Was snappy but a bit noisy. M110 spring giving 1.0J on 0.28g Noise was probably due to the pad on the cylinder head being...

    Upgrading Cyma M4 - Motor/gearbox sound issues

Make sure the tappet plate isn’t being jammed between the sector gear and gearbox casing, I have had this after perfectly shimming the gears and then wondering why it sounded tight.

    THE TM MWS thread

Long time; no fettling. Getting the MWS ready for next weekend and had a play about with some Guns Modify parts. There is an issue where the MWS can self-adjust the hop down as it cycles. This is due to the gas key / guide part rubbing on the hop wheel. I have had this with a very worn TM one...

    What are you're rig/vest recommendations

While I have SADF M83 battle jacket and chest rig <flex> I find I am running my more minimal ones. Spiritus MkV (like the regular mini chest rig but only one pocket deep) with 3x M4 mags and a pistol-mag sized speed loader in a Esstac Kywi on the side to top up the M4 gas mags. Axle...

New TM MP7A1 shooting hot, need advice filling mags and lowering fps

ASG Beige gas is about the same as Nuprol 2.0 in terms of pressure. Abbey 144a is lower than Nuprol 1.0 “white gas” and should get it under the limit even on warm days.

    THE TM MWS thread

Silent fill valve o-rings removed and fill tubes replaced with 7mm ID stainless steel tube, 50mm length from the brass threads. This is a bit less than stock but still gives a good space for the gas to fill above the liquid. The stainless tube is a snug push fit over the alu tube so with some...

That is a cool trick! I managed to dig them out with a needle and a lot of swearing ?  Looking to buy some 7mm ID stainless tube as the previous owner cut of ALL of the fill tubes. Epoxy it on the remaining stub and allow some gas expansion space ?
