It will still work decently, even for a sniper rifle. However, for aeg, the cost doesn't make it worth it. Just a quick glance at patrol base: £17.49 for 1000 0.4g ares, or £8.99 for 4000 0.25g ares. For s
They're going into a sniper rifle, just to test (also they're dark grey).
For AEGs I stick to 0.25s, at 1J they gave me the best compromise between velocity, range and affordability. I pay €13 for 4000 0.25s G&G and they last me 3 to 4 days, which isn't bad for the price.
Also got a lifetime supplement of bbs for my mk23, a single bag of .32s
depends if your gun can hop them, and are we talking 1J on a 0.2 or a 0.4? if your gun can hop it go for it! my friend uses 0.48s in his MK23 which is under a joule on 0.2s and that ranges nearly all AEGs
it'll take some hop tweakery, but it can be done, you want a nice large contact patch, currently trying out a 50° maple leaf autobot in the makarov and it seems to be able to lift .48's at 0.8j ok, and the m4 can lift .48's at 1j although i tend not to run them in that gun all that often, the range is nice but man is that ammo expensive.
