Stood on a 5 foot wall that edges my driveway cutting (hacking) the hedges back with one of those pole mounted trimmers, stepped back and found out I'd run out of wall behind me.
Bounced off a slightly lower section of wall on the way down then landed on the small step ladder I'd used to get up there. Ambulance trip and several hours in A&E later I now have two broken ribs (one of them in two places), suspected broken finger on my right hand plus various grazes and bruises from other bits hitting the wall/ladder/ground.
The worst part? My local chemist had run out of the painkillers I needed so I haven't had any since last night, now waiting for my wife to pick them up on her way home from work.
