Actually even with increased terror these are the safest times in human history for the west (and only getting safer). It's tragic but don't let these twats get to you - it's exactly why they do it.

I grew up near Aldershot and Sandhurst in the 70's. This really is nothing new.

Sacarathe, I wasnt just talking about London, fully aware of the state of everywhere  its getting ridiculous. No one seems to be doing much about any of it, not just the homegrown incidents.

I dont have much faith left in the state of anything right now. Fully want to pack up and go live in the rainforest right now (until mc freaking donalds cut it down for their frankencattle)

Literally one plot foiled per week that you'll never read about because it doesn't sell newspapers. A whole war in the middle east for 10 years because of terrorism with 500 UK soldiers dying for little to no reason. More specialised armed response units than ever before. Just bear in mind that this is the sort of thing UK intelligence is supposed to deal with - if you're catching a bomb in a suitcase at the airport or needing to shoot someone then there have already been a handful of other failures between the making/importing of the bomb, communication of the perpetrators etc. that weren't caught. These are things you don't see because - again - they're either not disclosed immediately or don't have a series of gore-y videos and pictures that they can slap on the front of every tabloid for a week.

It's not that no one is doing anything, it's that you're not reading about it. Increase your breadth of media consumption beyond Facebook and be realistic about the figures involved here. People like you are exactly who terrorism preys on. Whilst this is a problem, it's absolutely blown out of proportion every time to give the murderers exactly what they want - that's the really injustice here.

On the rolling newsfeed yesterday they mentioned that 5 terror attacks have been foiled by security services since the Westminster attack and that MI5 currently has around 500 active investigations running. We're definitely doing something about it.

Compare the number of deaths here with the number of deaths in places like Kabul where they don't have the kind of anti terror capability that we do - a car bomb in Kabul recently killed 80 people in a marketplace!

Typed a whole essay responding but still couldnt quite get my point across properly.

I am not one who terrorists prey on and do not rely on the daily mail and facebook for news, our mainstream media put out more garbage than donald trumps cake hole!

Totally get all the foiled attempts and understand why we wouldnt hear of them, its just in my opinion too many negative changes are happening because of all of this and I doubt we would ever get back to a normal way of life where terrorist attacks are not normal as too many people are benefiting from the chaos both the western world and elsewhere.
