It's used by Bolivia and Jamaica. I don't think it's exported elsewhere, and it's a fairly complex and expensive weapon. Maintenance can be fairly difficult, cleaning (especially a deep clean) can take a while
Plus so many AR pattern weapons are produced that along with Uncle Sam giving away old m16s and training people with them, they take up what the AK doesnt
A1 was complete garbage to the point Enfield lost its reputation as a manufacturer + Maggie putting a nail in Enfield s coffin so there is no production any more. It also sounds like the new receivers H&K made for us are running out fast to the point were the planned 2025 phase out for something else may be brought forward.
At the very least if they had not done such a bad job the Aussies (Thale) would have purchased the rights to manufacturer the rifle and the Kiwis would have then picked some of them up.
