I suppose technically, the 'best' Springer gun would be the semi-auto Toyko Marui Glock 26:

They are only 13 quid. They shoot at about 150 fps with .12 BBs and they are semi auto, which is bizarre for a springer. Other than that, the little metal Galaxy P26 is good, does about 250 fps and is about 20 quid:

Don't bother with the TM Gindans, you can lob BBs further that it.

Reason to get one? Because you want one, because you can use it for target practice, which is fun, because it gets you out of the house, because it teaches you to be responsible, because you can stave off a zombie attack etc.

It's true the TM gindan doesn't shoot far, but we are trying to persuade his mum that it's not some kind of weapon of mass destruction lol. She will know that when she sees it's only good for back garden plinking.

I've tried all those reasons so I think it actually has to have a "purpose" if you know what I mean. Yes Chock that's what I'm trying to persuade them. Somehow I doubt a shotgun will be too kindly accepted.

One undeniably nice thing about the TM Gindans of course, is that they have all the proper trademarks on them, so they do make quite nice wallhangers.

With a Gock the only one said, god knows how I'm going to persuade her lol.

I'll see what I can do about the Glock, it seems a brilliant idea, thanks Chock. However, to get the Glock I think I would have to get the l85. Its the only way I can think of doing it. L85 to help with the l98 training and the Glock as a tag along" treat" for A's and A*'s. Thanks all!

I've used them on the stairs at Trojan dual wielded, where you absolutely do need a pistol, or two. They do okay since they are semi-automatic. The range/ accuracy is a non issue engaging on a stairwell, especially when blatting away with two of them lol. The only problem really is the fps is low. Not a bad thing for whoever you are shooting at, but potentially means they don't feel a hit.

That was why a L85 is what we use in cadets & good for weapon training bollox

the TM G26 springer is beyond worthless, better off getting a DE M56 type shotgun which will be actually skirmishable when you decide to do that.

It's not gonna duke it out with a Gas Blowback Desert Eagle, but it's comparatively harmless qualities may be a suitable thin end of a wedge to parental resistance. James is obviously keen and clearly not a 'wot gunz r gud?' type, so anything to help him is worth a go.
