Paintball is for the most part rentals, good for stag do's and parties, no real commitment unless you buy your own gear. Airsoft; majority of people own their own kit so you've made a bit more of a commitment to go. Attempt to be more tactical in places and a focus on realism of weapons at least. I wouldn't say one was better

than the other. They're two completely different beasts, suiting different people and needs. I like both but I'd much rather go airsofting. However airsofting is my thing that none of my friends know about. If i wanted to go with friends I'd go paintballing despite not liking it as much because its a much more party conductive atmosphere in my experience. It depends what you want from your time on what you will find best.

Its not sh*t. Not even being spiteful but apart from being able to see hits visibly airsoft is better in pretty much every area IMO.

There's that too :P . But yeah, if you're trying to win an argument on the subject to get your parents to allow you to airsoft (I'm assuming they've said why don't you go paint balling because they don't like realistic looking guns? Either that or arguing with a mate at school?)

Airsoft is :

*Cheaper: (running costs, assuming you've bought all your kit for both)

*More realistic

*Team building (I've noticed airsofters forming plans and w...

and working together - not what I've noticed whilst paint balling)

*Cooler. I mean come on, do you want to dress as a painter and decorator who got lost in the woods or as a Death dealing steely eyed Navy seal?

*Milsim

*Our grenades contain explosives

*We don't get covered in paint

*encourages honesty/honor with hit taking

If you want to get into paintball properly it is insanely expensive. Paint costs A LOT of money compared to BB's

went paintball just once and jeez there was many cheaters & peeps bitching. I don't think it was the sport but the amount of renters and some of them really do want to win at all costs

You'd think with paint it is a clear hit but loads argue that is was a "splatter" - yeah right I saw ya take a direct hit ffs. Cap the flag - guy grabs flag, gets lit up but gives it to a "clean" m8 to cap - FFS !!! - yeah I went just once. but think 90% were cheating rentals than regulars

Airsoft is cheaper by miles if you wanna waste 5k bb's in 1 day if you are that trigger happy, under £10

Paintball - well many sites force you to use theirs at insane prices - cost me an arm & leg in buying extra ammo for son's birthday bash a couple of years ago.

Most of his m8's are lazy sods but a few times 1 or 2 tagged along, there ya go with a gun, bag of bb's, spare gloves/mask they pay the walk on £20 full day

yeah that won't get you far on paintball
