can you run older movie maker versions instead if doing PVR or other editing stuff. I'm sure we had to use an older (better) version but was about a year ago when really into PVR gaming etc...

Think they might have stopped it or changed it a lot and hence why we had to use older version but unsure how we did it or if we had to use win7 instead of win 8

Trying 2.6 but I dunno if it'll work, says for Vista OS rather than 7.

2.6 works...but it's a really old version and doesn't look too good. Gonna have to look into some of the other free ones but need to re-install antivirus stuff before I start doing that.

Actually doesn't work, won't recognise my video files or whatever. Can't import them.

pi$$ balling about re-encode to them edit in movie maker coz standard pvr software is limited so to speak - oh what joy it was

some pvr's are better than others in the way they let you save as wmv etc.. - you keep having to re-encode then lose quality, but after a few attempts you should find a routine that kind of works without too much messing about. Some other software may recognise your card and work better - other software is bespoke only to brand xxxx pvr's :(
