Using one finger to press down on the BB's in the lip seems to be helping a lot.

I hold one finger the rear side of the mag lip thing and then use the speed loader diagonal into it from the other direction.
Through I tend to just use the loading tube thing that comes with it now, speed load into that then just slide the thing down
