Black hawk down has nothing on Saving Private Ryan.

Saving Private Ryan was a big anti-climax. One really awesome scene at the start and then the rest was just okay. Thin Red line, now there's a good war film. We Were Soldiers is also pretty good. Most stirring though-Zulu.

Watched Paschendaele yesterday, a bit gory

Forces Spéciales - 2011 French film about an SF unit rescuing a kidnapped journalist from the Taliban and escaping across the Hindu Kush. Amazingly authentic detail and very emotional too.

Thin Red Line. Paths of Glory, Fortress of War (Russian), 9th Company (Russian), Platoon, In Which We Serve, just ordered Stalingrad (German) so I dunno yet, but it has a good rep, Das Boot, Dunkirk
