No..no i have not & i dont think i can personally do it without it exploding in bits & bobs so i'll be begging potential threat for a trip to his so he can see whats up with it (it was firing fine 5 minutes ago changed to a pmag then it started just making a whirring noise)

Haha you can the motor out easy. Just two screws in the handle.

Does it sound like it's engaging the gears? Just take it out and have a look at the motor, it might be something simple.

Sounds like the gears have been stripped, East fix if that is the case

i dont think it does it just sounds like its winding up or something like that it definatly is not touching the spring might be something stupid like a half cocked cycle causing it to fanny up but really internals are not my strong point

Take the motor out and look at the teeth. Just take the two screws out the handle and disconnect the motor.

Pistol? Is it an aeg?

It'll adjusted the motor. If you unscrew it it'll be too low for the motor to engage. Try tighten it a little bit.

it does sound very similar to that i've tightened it as much as i'm willing to it sounded a little different but still not engaging spring

if it's just whizzing then either your motor is too low or something in the gearbox has stripped, likely the piston as that's the most fragile part.

Thankfully it's a cheap fix regardless of what's broken, new piston will set you back no more than £15-20 for a good one, gears you can pick up for next to nothing.

And there isn't two other small screws beside it?

You'd have to take a picture, I don't understand how the motor goes in if it isn't there.
