Same here. It might just be your internet connection. Have you tried unplugging it, then plugging back in and turning it back on? That usually works for me.
Not an elitist, I have had my fair share of consoles and pc. I just find pc to be 10000x better. I have had nearly all nintendo consoles, all xbox's, all playstations and more.
Go into your system memory and delete the title update for Minecraft, clear your system cache, then try install it again. Worked for me when I had problems getting the update for Halo Reach.
PC is the pinnacle of gaming when you're using an Xbox 360 controller, though.
Frizzle, it's actually been created quite well given the limitations Mojang faced when changing it to fit a console. They also release monthly updates which is also a plus.
I own both a gaming PC and PS3. Must say I actually prefer console for the ease of use and everything. I imagine the 8th gen is even better for the speed and graphics rival a PC. Then again you still can't get games like ARMA and you can't have mods. I just need more mates to play the games with, and I need to sort out the problems I have with the computer. It's fine, easy fix, just haven't had the time to take it in. Anyway, I would say if you plan on buying a computer anyway...
Before I sound like I'm rich or something I'm saying that most people will probably have a desktop PC anyway so when you come go buy one you get a decent gaming one. It is good to have both if you can afford. Or upgrade an existing desktop I suppose. You get the idea.
Cheers cropzy I know you've mentioned it before, I'm just waiting until I finish my exams for good and I'll take it to the computer shop and see if I can get it fixed.
