there was a thread about the handguard battery quite recently. I think the general conclusion was that it's not a that good idea.

Yeah whilst the toptechs are better, the toptech in question has the dreaded handguard battery, something the CM I linked doesnt due to a battery stock

I would have to locate a collapsible stock for the CM. Decent ones are rare as gold dust and just as expensive. I have not found anyone who actually says they have had issues with the handguard battery.

Collapsible stock is kinda a must, as I do mainly CQB and have to get to skirmishes by bicycle.

I also have a few colleagues who would like to get into airsoft but the Hire costs make hard, so if I have 2-3 spare guns it could be handy. Plus... Dual Wield MP5 and MP5K!!!!

Fair enough mate didn't realise you needed a small gun, just thought you liked mp5's haha. Have you considered a P90 ? would fit in your backpack no problem. Maybe even a VFC PDW

I do like MP5's, they are a design classic. My current MP5SD is low quality and good enough for indoor, I would like to upgrade to something decent so I can do some outdoor stuff. I'm now thinking I might get the CA MP5K and the G&G mp5. As for the rumoured connection issues, it would be simple to solder in a backup connector if it does happen and it would still be easier to fir the battery than on most other MP5's.

get CA B&T, excellent guns!

Thats the dilema. CA B&T are good, and currently £85. G&G top tech are awesome and £260. I had set my sights on the G&G until I saw the jdairsoft Xmas deal. The Collapsible stock on the CA doesn't look very sturdy though.
