I use a plastic tub from a pound shop like this (Lots of sizes available)

Cut a hole in the top so it has a few CM border and put a towel or foam in the bottom. (I use duct tape to hold in place)
Then tilt it on its side... voila ?
You can tape a sheet of paper over the front if you want a painted target.
