thats the tricky one, new build house, so got no way of getting the range far enough to set hops. It wont be until i get out on sunday that i will be able to set the hop and find out. I blindly turned up the hop, but to little effect on fps (perhaps not far enough).
I may just have to bring the old barrel and hop unit to swap out if it is too hot... or a hacksaw...
my past experience of opening a gearbox did not go well.... its a stock g&p m16a1. the amount of fps gained from just a hop up and barrel change really threw me. (some of said parts were bought from you... feel responsible ?)
is it quick change? only thing I could recommend is grabbing a new spring, something like an XT M100 should do the trick. Also if you can photo and measure the existing spring might be able to estimate what it is
sadly no, its an old style gearbox from what i can see. its not the opening im scared of, its the putting back together. i might just put the old barrel in again but have the new hop for marginal gains. sucks though. that is until i can find suitable supervision for surgery
if you really don't want to open and I completely understand why you wouldn't then yes removing part of the inner barrel might work. You could also try fitting a long silencer if you have one. These are old school solutions. Does your site chrono on joules? Are you under 1.3
wow, they're really strict. You could try leaving the AEG with the spring pulled all the way back for a couple of days, you may have already done this though. That might knock a few fps off. Otherwise it's back to the old setup ?
weird, i have a identical inner barrel set up with the 340mm zci barrel and hop. it fires 320fps on 0.2... basically the same as the stock 509mm inner barrel
yup, the gearbox is all stock. Crazy what a bit of tightboring can do to the fps
with hop tinkering it can go below the fps requirement, but i think i will bring the shorter innerbarrel as a spare to site. just incase it still fires hot with the hop set properly
