KWA 1911s are not great. Socom gear 1911s are bad.

get a TM Hicapa,WE Glock or KWA ATP or something.

I've heard good things about the atp is that the one the large magazine? As for TM hicapa's i have looked into them for almost 2 years now but i can never decide on one i like any suggestions?

tm hicapas have more spares than any other pistol.

WE/socom gear 1911's are shite.

The KWA ATP is essentially just a Glock 17, it was designed for law enforcement to train with I think. It shares the same control features as the G17 but I think the idea was to incorporate various designs into one gun so users of various platforms could all find some commonality with it.

I'd say to go with whichever one is easiest to get parts for and can take CO2 magazines. Opens up your options a fair amount.

Double stack mags are good to have though.

I think Socom Gear are more or less the same as WE, and since WE have recently set up a distribution centre in the UK, that ought to be your best bet for replacement parts and repairs etc. Socom Gear generally seem to get a pretty good rep, and you did say it was your favourite one.

As for which shoots the best, it depends who you talk to. Your best might not be the same as someone elses, depends on the ammo you use, the temperature, the range to the target etc etc. I'd disreg...

i'm leaning towards the atp as i already have a glock and they have interchangeable magazines BUT i really really don't like how it looks and might go with a 5.1 hi capa because tm guns i can upgrade and swap parts

Ed, the atp was made because glock airsoft guns arent allowed in the US- smething like that anyway. Problem with the socom gear is that its just a WE, their new stuff is good but their WE's are useless, they're a hybrid of a tm hicapa and their own stuff- would be better off going for a Kwa if he was set on the 1911.

My opinion would be to go for a WE, just make sure it's one of the new ones.

Which glock do you have? the ATP will only take kwa/ksc glock mags

i have owned one WE and it lasted ok , alot better than their reputation and i guess it shot ok

The problem is that their older stuff is so inconsistant, some people's are brilliant but more often than not they arent- like ares with AEGs. The new stuff though I'd buy in a heartbeat, only real problem is their metal quality meaning that you will probably have to buy a new outer barrel.

My ATP is fantastic. Makes a good competition pistol as well as a skirmish one.

i like the atp because it's the best price as i can use my old mags and the marui i would personally like to make all metal so more money would have to be spent
