Worth considering that either way the PC itself is only part of the expense. After factoring pouches, some sort of plates, backpanels so on and so forth you'll be cruising past your initial budget. My personal preference these days would be between the Spiritus Systems LV119 Overt or the Ferro Concepts FCPC v5, though finding all the bits in stock anywhere isn't particularly easy at all. I have an LV119 Overt I currently have up for sale (though not on here), lovely carrier but the lack of MOLLE/laser cut on the back and limited choice of back panels at present just meant I didn't have options open to me that I'd like. The FCPC is similar, but opens up more back panel options and uses g-hooks to attach placards rather than ITW clips (which I'm gradually growing to hate). Though I can't comment on the FCPC first hand just yet, I ended up ordering one from the States and it's not arrived yet.

The JPC (2.0) is nice but I wasn't the biggest fan of the cummerbund, which is ultimately what led me to exploring the options from Spiritus and Ferro (as many are, I'm a massive Ferro fan boy and I'm not ashamed to admit it).

TLDR, good PCs are an absolute money pit. I'd advise not taking that plunge until you're properly aware of the associated cost to get one set up... and once you've accepted that cost, accept the realisation that you'll be buy and selling various pouches and placards until you land on your sweet spot. As with everything do your research to see what you think works best for you and what you want the piece of kit to fulfil.

Caveat before the hate wagon rolls in, I'm aware you in no way need a PC for airsoft and they're very much a luxury if you like the look. They do nothing a smersh, belt/yoke, chest rig or [insert any of the other number of load bearing kit options out there] can't do. But 9 times out of 10 they cost an awful lot more to do largely the same job.

Thanks. I’m drawn to the lpc and JPC as they have the quick releases on the cummerbunds. I was looking initially just for the front, back bags and cummerbunds for for that money. I appreciate these are extremely expensive to put together but it’s something I figure I’ve got ages to get right. It’s just the initial purchase really, I’m quick draw to the laser cut rather than Molle. I will check out the ferro as Being honest I’ve not heard of them before. Thanks for the info ?

I guess it depends what you mean by 'quick release' cummerbunds, but JPCs don't have a quick release (at least as far as I'd define it) as standard. They some with a skeletal cummerbund that have extended handles to make ripping the velcro off easier without having to lift your placard up. Though now I say it 'out loud' I guess that is quick release of sorts.

Generally speaking when I see/hear the words 'quick release cummerbund' I think of the 'tubes' style that the LPC seems to come with as standard. You can get those for the JPC but they aren't cheap (link).

Then you get on to the joys of AVS with the JPC. TLDR, it's a propriately means of attaching placards/front panels to prevent needing MOLLE, though there is an AVS panel which is blank with MOLLE loops on it. As you'd expect with anything Crye the AVS panels aren't cheap, though they are very nicely made. AVS M4 Flap, AVS MOLLE Flap, AVS Stretch Flap. So on and so forth, obviously if you were to opt for the middle one, you'd then need to get pouch to attach to it... money pit, money pit, etc, etc.

Only other advice I can give is don't get blinded by brands. If from your research it's well regarded kit and it's fit for what you want, go for it. There are only 2 types of airsofter that give a fuck that you're wearing Crye. The airsofter that bought it and insists you know about it, and folks on forums that say you're an idiot for buying it due to the cost. And yes, it is funny when folks from the latter camp become folks in the former camp. As long as you're happy, you do you... but before you do you, do research.

I’d love an AVS but that’s too much at the moment. And yeah I’m going to buy something decent because I want to, not some attempt to be cool. I have a inner monologue at the moment about whenever to spend the cash or not. Buy cheap buy twice springs to mind and I don’t want to buy something that will just last 6 months.

For sure, there are a multitude of reasons, spaning from 'because I like gucci kit' to 'because I want to be the prettiest battle princess' to 'how else can I oper8?'

My personal reason is somewhere between liking gucci kit, and liking the fact it holds value in the second hand market. In my opinion accepting that you simply might not get on with a piece of expensive kit is something you need to do before taking the plunge. It's better to sell it on and buy something better suited than it is to have it 'make do' simply on the premise it was expensive. Ultimately the only person you haave to justfy the purchase to is yourself, frankly, it's no one elses business.

Yeah I agree it’s a risk you have to take bit like buying a bmw thinking they are amazing then realising they aren’t and losing 30% in the first 6 months haha ?
