Cringe in Airsoft

Then I'm glad police at Paphos airport in Cyprus use MP5s as one I saw hade the situational awareness of a soggy toilet roll. While waiting to get though passport control I saw him smack the stock into a wall several times as he turned round.

Mind you this was the same airport where, when flying back, they x rayed my hand luggage twice and missed the geology field hammer I accidentally left in there. This was a week before Christmas 2001, right when airports round the world were still extra nervous after 9/11

Too busy looking for Osama, not Andy Dufresne

Sad, I know, but you could make a safari out of this tbh. Went diving today at a marine reserve, the guard had an M4 carbine, one with the RIS type upper receiver. But no rear flip up sight or any optic.

And a funny looking type 56, this time the newer one with the side folding stock while at a checkpoint. Couldn't figure what was wrong till I noticed there was no selector lever on it, just what looked like a rivet. I don't really want to take pictures let alone ask as Kenyans we've met seem really decent, the police though are openly, unashamedly after bribes.

Given up riding too far from Diani it got expensive- (we are totally legit and legal on the road not that it makes any difference)

I was a young teen still in school but 45RM were our local 'boys', like most of the country we took a great interest of events in a place we'd never heard of.

2017 for me, and I thank the Spaghetti Monster every day that I will never ever ever have to go to that paedo infested windblown shit hole in my life again. If it hadn't cost us so many lads in '82 I would say the Argies can have the fucking place.

Had one this Sunday which I thought was pretty cringy. The obsession withkill counts. A group of kids kitting up next to me asked how many I got in the previous game and seamed genuinely surprised when I said I had no idea.

That's a consequence of Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto among other video games where players have pissing contests favouring Kill/Death ratios over tactical and strategic play.

hell i'd extend that to caring too much about wether or not the team wins or loses.

end of the day i'll take a team loss that we had to make the other team work hard for over a victory that was just an easy cruise.

I agree! I don't mind if we win or lose if I have had a good day with some decent kills and memorable moments.

I couldn't agree more. I care much more about playing and chasing objectives to have a good time than winning.

It's nice if the team I'm on wins but I don't get into a strop about losing. I'll be much more annoyed by a lack of fair play than anything.

I think some people just treat it together much as a real competition but you get both at the end. I find as well the people who do play seriously competitive tournaments when they do a weekend skirmish they tend to know it isn't isn't serious and just have fun, yet the idiot who thinks he's captain price takes it as a real war.

I had to google Captain Price. Yes, there are a few who take a weekend skirmish a tad too seriously.

I mean i dont have a problem if folk want to be a bit competitive to motivate them to engage more.

But in my experience that drive to win can often result in either bitching about "this team is shit" demoralising those around them, or pushes them to cheat in the name of "i'm just getting the game moving".

Its like when you hear folk whining about the number of rentals at a given game day, as if its somehow beneath them to fall prey to the kit who's lack of expensive equipment is made up for by his ability to be in the right place at the right time.

Definitely this. Those people forget rentals are what keep the hobby going. With out it sites wouldn't draw in new people and we were all once rental players (some a longer time ago to other haha) so eventually without rentals the hobby would quickly decline as sites loose money to run.
