I had a really bad experience with my vfc M18, had really bad runaway where the hammer sear wouldn't catch and would go full auto and vent the mag. Tried after market sear and hammer but no change so I sold it on. Some people have had better experiences so I guess I was unlucky

Yeah the G36+ just doesn't appeal as much, I think if I was gonna avoid the recoil I'd maybe look at the WE GBB g36 

Ahh okay that's sorta the answer I expected, I'm really interested in adding a TM G36k Recoil to my existing recoil collection or a replacement MP7GBB as the price is attractive but as I expected fees and Vat will make it pointless ordering from abroad
