What was going to be a simple rewiring is now a complete headache!

I have an old GR16 CRW sitting around and decided to turn it into a project gun where I creatively find a way to rewire it (so the battery sits in a foregrip I have) because I didn't like having it in the 'spare mag' on the side, see picture below. Probably going to require some drilling  :D

Anyway, it's now more than just a simple rewire. It seems the gearbox is broken. Nothing ever goes to plan, right?  <_<  View attachment 26012

As you can see the front has cracked open, probably because the spring is too powerful. I'm going to need to fork out for a completely new gearbox now so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. I'm going to stick with an M90 - M100 spring to keep the FPS down because this is a CQB gun after all.

I put a 'tomtac' microswitch gearbox (ebay) in my nephew's M4 and it ran like a champ for a long time (100,000 BBs plus), he stripped the piston eventually with an 11.1v LiPo but for the price I couldn't fault it.

That looks like a good option. The quick release spring is a decent feature.

Here's my CRW...

G&P stock gears, SHS HT motor and 8 tooth DSG in a JG 8mm gearbox shell, 2250mah 11.1v lipo in the ready mag, 310fps and 43rps. It's bloody hysterical!
