What causes the gap between the receiver and handguard?

There are 2 locking nubs on the bottom on the receiver face where the handguard adapter fits. They are too long so will need filing. I will do this before this sells.
Does it have an NPAS?

Sadly not. WE don't fit them from factory and I haven't fitted one as it cronos at site-legal rates currently.
WE NPAS-es are readily available at a decent price.
