Hey hi hello. I bought this SRS secondhand from ActionHobbies under the guise that it worked totally fine and was previously owned by a hardcore sniper aficionado who knew his shit.
Either it had another owner between him and action hobbies, or he had a stroke while tinkering with it because its not the best.
Had a keen eyed marshal at NML take a quick look at it and he told me it has an aftermarket hop chamber or feed tube installed and showed me the Variable Mass Piston which needed a new cup (or whatever the rubber doohickey at the end of the piston is) and was missing a lot of the optional weights.I also noticed a screw and nut was missing from the body but that seems superfluous and doesn't affect the integrity of it, just wanted to highlight that.
I was hoping to replace my perfectly functional TAC-41 with this however my new AKX has rewired my brain and so every other RIF I own is now dead to me so I have no motivation to fix this. AKX for life.
The rifle shoots fine 4 out of 5 times then double feeds. That being said, it was feeding off the shotgun shell adapter so I'm not sure if thats the cause.
I'd love to troubleshoot it but this piece of shit refuse to feed off its own 2 genuine mags that it was supplied with, infact the mag catch struggles to lock them in place without a heavy slap, hence why I bought the adapter which at least slots in nicely.
I know next to nothing about airsoft sniping. I put a Rapax spring in my TAC-41LS, thought it was amazing and called it a day. Thats the extent of my expertise.
But enough about my ineptitude, let me pass on my mistakes to you for what I think is a bargain price for anyone with a trickle of knowledge, motivation or some spare SRS parts lying about.
Oh and it is a bit sticky in places from all the stupid silly ghillie bullshit the previous owner(s) stuck all over it. but thats the least of its problems.
I have some videos of me chronoing it on 0.40g BB's and highlighting the double feed issue should you wish to see them.
